Pink Floyd – A Saucerful Of Secrets

This is was the first version with the black and silver label. The label has the “Sold In U.K. Subject To Retail Price Conditions” text at the bottom of the label – this was removed from UK records mid 1969 so this issue cannot be later than that. The All Rights etc.text around the rim of the label begins with The Gramophone Co Ltd rather than EMI Records. It was issued in an identical sleeve to the original 1968 blue and black label issue i.e.flip-back sleeve with “File Under Popular” printed top right corner on rear of sleeve, Garrod & Lofthouse printer credit with the 6807 date code although it was obviously issued at a slightly later date. There is only one EMI box at 6 o’clock on the label, later versions had two. As originally issued it came with an EMI “Patents Applied For” paper inner advertising other EMI lps.

Jimi Hendrix, ‘Band of Gypsys

Record has been loved but not abused. Some hairline whispy marks, but plays well throughout. Sleeve has some signs of age with some foxing and the odd small crease but overall a decent copy.
